Date: Model: Ref.: Colour: Page: 11th February 2008 See item 1 below DCE692 White 1 of 4 TECHNICAL BULLETIN Countermeasures against cassette paper feed jam (TRAY1 , etc.) 1. Model Name AR-M256M316 AR-M236/M276 AR-/235/275 AR-D11/D11N/D12/D12N/D21/D22/D30/D31 2. Symptom When the remaining quantity of paper in the cassette is reduced considerably, the angle of the rotation plate becomes sharp, paper may hit the paper feed roller directly without going between the paper feed roller and the separation sheet when it is transported by the pick-up roller. At that time, for some kinds of paper (especially those with much powder dust), when a large quantity of powder dust is attached to the pick-up roller, the transport power of the pick-up roller is reduced and paper is not passed through the paper feed roller, resulting in a paper jam (TRAY1, etc.). 3. Description In order to prevent the angle of the rotation plate from being sharp even when the remaining quantity of paper in the cassette is reduced, the shape of the upper limit detection actuator is changed. Also to increase the pressure of the pick-up roller onto paper, the pressure of the pickup roller pressure spring is increased. After change, "H" mark is graved on the upper limit detection actuator. Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd., Document Systems Support Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd., Document Systems Support 4. Countermeasures Some changes are made in the production of the upper limit detection actuator and the pick-up roller pressure spring. In the market, however, it is difficult to replace the pick-up roller pressure spring. Therefore, the pick-up roller pressure plate is additionally provided as a service part instead of the pick-up roller pressure spring. To make countermeasures in the market, change the upper limit detection actuator and attach the pick-up roller pressure plate. Attachment position of the pick-up roller pressure plate 1. Attach the pick-up roller pressure plate to the pick-up roller unit. (Use a screw (XHBS730P06000, M3 x 6).) 2. Mount the pick-up roller unit with the pick-up roller pressure plate attached to it on the cassette base plate. However, if the looseness of the lamp fixing plate is small, the expansion difference between fusing upper frame and heater lamp cannot be absorbed, and disconnection may occur at the connection section of the heater lamp sealing section. It causes H4 trouble. 3. Since the ratchet gear and fusing drive gear may be worn due to increase of the ratchet spring's load, one poly slider has been added between ratchet spring and ratchet gear and between fusing drive gear and E ring respectively. Cause AR-M256/M316 Abnormal noise may be produced near the power supply PWB immediately after turning on the power or during operation. Abnormal noise has been produced due to resonance of the ferrite core mounted to the HL relay harness on the power supply PWB. This causes a space between the resin case for the ferrite core and the core created by the combination of the resin case with larger size error and the core with smaller size error. To prevent resonance of the ferrite core, the core holder section in the resin case has been padded by 0.1 mm in order not to create a space between the resin case and the core. Use the tie band (LBNDJ0013FCZ1) to fix the ferrite core. Since the same parts are also used in other places, they have been changed for standardization. 4.
